The classless icon
of the 60s. From London chic to international rally star,
from Peter Sellers to Paddy Hopkirk, this amazing little car has
everything. Equally at home driving to the shops or tearing along
an icy corniche on the Monte Carlo Rally.
The more or less standard 997 Mk 1 Cooper took
over from the original much-modified 850 rally car at the end of
1961, and scored 1st places in the 62 Tulip, Baden-Baden and
Geneva Rallies. Our car 300 BXM is one of three original
Radford specials, modelled on the Sellers Hooper version, and was
presented to the Dancer Margot Fonteyn in 1961.
Originally supplied as an 850cc Morris Mini and now up-rated to
approx. Cooper mechanical specification with 998cc mildly tuned
twin SU carb engine, and period rally extras, to make Mini Margot
more suitable for historic road and regularity rallying, whilst
maintaining an authentic period look and feel.
