Ferrari's little jewel of the late sixties
and early seventies, said to be the prettiest car that Ferrari
ever produced.
In the opinion of many the lines
of this delectable Pininfarina styled coupé have never been
improved upon, incorporating classic proportions and styling cues
that have been used on various subsequent Ferrari Berlinettas ever
since.
The Dino was named after Commendatore Ferrari's deceased son, it was Ferrari's
first mid-engined car, and the first car to be produced by Ferrari in any significant
numbers. A light and airy cabin, a sweet revving mid mounted dohc chain driven
V6 Dino engine, 5 speed gearbox operated through the classic chromed Ferrari
gate, race bred double wishbone suspension and disc brakes all round add up to
a very rewarding drive.
Dino's were used surprisingly little in period
international competition, considering that the direct competitor
Porsche 911 was very popular. However, Dino 246 competition history
does include the prestigious Coppa D'Italia, Targa Florio and
Le Mans 24 hours events.
Our Dino, a 1972 LHD European series III has been fastidiously maintained and
prepared by experts, and is fitted with uprated suspension, comfortable, supportive
bucket seats, and additional instrumentation, making this Italian classic most
suitable for long distance continental classic tours or continental historic
regularity rallying.
