Classic Road & Historic Road Rally cars

DEFINITIONS:

THE HIRER: The person or persons who drive the vehicle.

THE OWNER: Chris Murphy and Beau-Ideal Ltd.

AGE & LICENCE RESTRICTIONS:
Age 25-70, Minimum 1 year clean (minor offence/accident OK) licence.
Generally European (EEC) citizen. Others on application.
A copy of the driving licence for each person who may drive will be required before the hire.

INSURANCE POLICY COVER:
Hire prices include fully comprehensive vehicle insurance cover for two named qualifying drivers (Insured and one Additional Driver). Comprehensive Green Flag roadside assistance/recovery is also provided.
Each person intending to drive the car will be required to complete an insurance proposal form, outlining their driving experience, occupation etc.
A copy of a utility bill or similar is required by the insurer as evidence of residence.

PERSONS LIKELY NOT INSURED TO DRIVE:
(a) Has been refused any motor insurance or had special Insurance terms imposed as a result of claims experience or had their insurance cancelled by any Motor Insurer
(b) Has any mental or physical defect or infirmity or suffers from fits, diabetes or any heart complaint
(c) Has been convicted of an offence in connection with the driving of a motor vehicle or motor cycle and/or has had their licence endorsed or suspended or penalty points imposed. Parking and up to two speeding offences in the last 3 years may be ignored.
(d) Whilst driving, has been involved in more than one accident during the past 3 years.

USE OF VEHICLE (Road cars):
The hirer may use the vehicle for social domestic and pleasure purposes only. The vehicles may not be used for any purposes for which they are not expressly designed. Further, the hirer will not use or permit the vehicles to be used for hire, driving tuition, towing, racing or pace-making, or for competing in any rally, or any other form of motor sport, track days, or for any illegal purpose whatsoever.
A note for the erstwhile boy racers amongst you – Please do not think that we will not notice that the tyres, brakes and clutch are shot – WE WILL! – And you will be charged for it.
Due to the rather precious nature of our classic cars and for the benefit of all our customers smoking and/or transporting of pets not allowed in any of our cars

PETROL:
Cars are provided with a full tank of petrol and the vehicle must be returned with a full tank. If, however, this is not the case any reimbursement for petrol will be charged at the pump price, plus £10 (plus VAT) administration charge. The Hirer is responsible for using the correct type of fuel (and/or additive) required for the vehicle.

OVERSEAS TRAVEL:
Some of our cars may be taken out of the UK, but only by prior arrangement. Notification is required so that the requisite overseas insurance and Green Flag cover may be arranged.

EXCESS & SECURITY DEPOSIT:
A fully refundable (on safe return of the car) excess security deposit of £1000 is payable a minimum of 7 days before the hire. The purpose of the deposit is:
(a) As a security bond
(b) As payments towards any mechanical damage which is not covered by our Insurers, eg, tyres, wheels, clutch, gearbox and which was sustained during the hire period, excluding normal wear and tear, due to misuse and abuse.
(c) As an insurance excess against any accidental damage or loss caused to the vehicle by a third party or the hirer. Collision Damage Waiver is not available.
(e) Additional charges incurred during hire for excess mileage and, or, petrol reimbursement charges.

BOOKING & CANCELLATION:
A Booking Fee of £100 is required. (non-refundable upon cancellation)
The balance of the hire charge normally to be paid 30 days before the hire.
Late bookings – made within 30 days of a hire are payable in full.
Cancellations 30-15 days prior to hire date - 50% refund of hire charge, subject to a minimum charge of £100.
Cancellations 14-8 days prior to hire date - 25% refund of hire charge, subject to a minimum charge of £100.
Cancellations within 7 days of the hire - no refund due.

PRICES & AVAILABILTY:
All cars are offered subject to availability.
Prices are subject to change without prior notice, however once a car has been booked and a deposit received, the price will not be altered for that hire. All rentals are subject to the owners additional Terms and Conditions on the reverse of the Hire Agreement, to be signed by the hirer at the time of the hire. All drivers are subject to approval by the owner and the owners’ insurers.
In the event of unavailability of a chosen car due to mechanical or other problems beyond our control, The Owner will inform the hirer and offer either an alternative car for the same date or an alternative date.

LIABILITY:
The owners liability is limited to a refund of the hire charge. No consequential loss liability will be covered.
