One of the greatest cars ever made, and probably the most recognisable classic in the world. There is even an example in the New York, Museum of Modern Art.

The Jaguar E-Type is without doubt one of the landmarks in sports car history.

William Lyons lithe styling turns heads today as surely as it did when the car was first launched in 1961. The performance was always stunning from all variants and the Series 3 being the first application of Jaguar's majestic V12 power unit is no exception, with over 270 remarkably smooth horsepower, and a whopping 304 lbs ft of torque on tap to propel this E Type to claimed maximum (non-recommended) speeds of up to 150 mph.

Many car manufacturers - including Jaguar - have tried subsequently to recreate the special blend of sensations offered by the E-type, but have never matched the pure thrill of the original. Our car is available as Series 3 Roadster with 4 speed manual transmission and power steering, white coachwork with blue leather interior, and is an extremely stylish and relaxed open-air sports Grand Tourer.

The Aston Martin DB6, introduced in 1965 to replace the by then well established and world famous (Bond) DB5 series is the last and best of the line of true DB Astons.

Incorporating a stiffer non-superleggra construction chassis, with more aluminium and less steel in the roomier hand crafted body for a weight penalty of a mere 17 lbs (7.7 Kg) above the DB5. A longer wheelbase with a modified roof-line resulted in genuinely usable rear seats, and the distinctive Kamm tail solved the aerodynamic rear body lift experienced on earlier models.

The DB6 Mk2 was introduced in 1969, originally with the intention of naming it the DB7. The DB7 idea was eventually dropped and DB6 production in Mk2 form continued until 1970, overlapping the DBS, with a total of 240 Mk2’s manufactured at Newport Pagnell. Distinguishing new features for the Mk2 included modified, more comfortable front seats, wider wire wheels and flared wheel arches.

The classic Tadek Marek 4 litre twin overhead camshaft engine was retained from the DB5, now fully developed and reliable. Our car, DB6 Mk2, a 1969 model is a genuine factory Vantage specification, producing 325 BHP on triple 45 DCOE Weber carburettors.

Only 71 in total Vantage DB6 Mk2’s were produced, this being one of only three such equipped with optional automatic transmission.

A fully comprehensive and clearly expert restoration using Aston Martin factory parts was undertaken in Switzerland in the eighties, commissioned by the then owner. The DB6 was subsequently entrusted to the next owner, a well known Bond Street Jeweller, during whose eight-year ownership the car was Aston Factory prepared with little regard to expense. Still in splendid, standard condition, with the added benefit of an unleaded fuel cylinder head conversion, this beautiful DB6 Mk2 Vantage has been maintained and documented in a likewise fashion by the current custodian.

Price on application.
