Beau-Ideal
Ltd. was incorporated and registered in England as a limited company
in 1996. The company was founded by former Grand Prix car designer
Chris Murphy following the closure of Team Lotus, where Chris was
employed as chief designer and chief engineer, responsible for the
Lotus Grand Prix cars driven by Mikka Hakkinen, Johnny Herbert and
Allesandro Zanardi.

Beau-Ideal Ltd. is in two parts. There is a race engineering and
design consultancy division (www.beau-ideal.com) and the classic
car hire division (www.beau-ideal.co.uk). The classic car hire project
was set up as a means of utilizing Chris' extensive personal collection
of classic and historic competition cars, that had been built up
over the 13-year period that Chris was gainfully employed designing
racing cars.
Beau Ideal operates from offices in Thickthorn Hall a Regency mansion
in Norfolk, and a design studio and workshop in a nearby converted
Victorian chapel. The classic car collection is maintained to a
high standard by local motor engineer Andrew Harmer of Brooke Garage.
